Launch a Startup in One Weekend?

The Ben Craig Center is a gold sponsor of Charlotte's Startup Weekend Event which begins Friday, May 13th and continues through Sunday, May 15th.
Startup Weekends are all about learning through the act of creating. From technical to business backgrounds, this exciting 54-hour hands-on, weekend-long experience is where developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams,build products, and launch startups. Over 36% of Startup Weekend startups are still going strong after 3 months. Roughly 80% of participants plan on continuing working with theri team or startup after the weekend.
Local tech and startup leaders participate as mentors and judges. Ben Craig Center President, Paul Wetenhall will provide a module on Friday evening on opportunity assessment and will serve as a judge on Sunday evening.
Devin Collins, Assistant Director for Business and Entrepreneurial Development, from the Charlotte Research Institute will participate all weekend and will offer a module on pitching your ideas as well as "Business Plan in 30 Minutes".
